The New York Knicks will travel to Atlanta tonight looking to get back on track after a disappointing loss when they take on the Hawks. Check out the up to date odds for this game at Just Bet sportsbook.
The Knicks were on a roll before a hard to explain 98-90 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night. Carmelo Anthony had a rare off game scoring just 12 points, while Amar’e Stoudamire led the Knicks with 15 points in his first game back from injury. People will blame his return for the Knicks being out of sync, in the long run though once they get him back acclimated to the rotation they will be better off as a team. The Knicks are now tied for the 8th seed with the Philadelphia 76ers and both are comfortably 3 games ahead of the 9th place Milwaukee Bucks so the playoffs look like a solid possibility for the Knicks at this point.
The Hawks on the other hand come into the game on a bit of a roll having won 7 of their last 9 games. Most recently they defeated the Boston Celtics by a score of 97-92 on Friday night. Joe Johnson had a monster night tallying 30 points for the Hawks while Josh Smith added 19 points and 12 rebounds of his own. The Hawks probably should have won by more considering the best four players on the Celtics didn’t even play, but the win is what is most important. Al Horford is expected to return before the end of the regular season and will be available for the playoffs, which is great news for the Hawks.
Head to head, the Knicks are 7-2 ATS in the last nine meetings in Atlanta and 9-4 ATS in the last 13 meetings overall.
It was definitely a big surprise to see the Knicks show a lack of effort and execution as they did vs. the Cavs last time out. We do not see this happening two games in a row and the Knicks have more to play for than the Hawks do in this one. Take the Knicks and the points at the sports book.
