The trade for Ellis happened and his first game with the Bucks was against his former team. He scored 18 in a 120-98 Bucks victory.
Although the Bucks won the second game he played in, in blowout fashion as well he only scored 14 points. The Bucks did beat the Blazers 116-87 so that could have impacted his playing time a bit.
Ellis has faired well against the Celtics in the past to say the least. He is averaging 27.4 in his last 5 games vs. the C’s and scored 41 on them the last time he faced them.
Boston is nearing the end of a 8-game road trip. They are 3-3 in the first 6, which is not bad at all considering the aging players their team features.
The Celtics are coming off of an impressive win on Monday night at Atlanta vs. the Hawks. They went on a commanding 17-2 run in the 4th stanza. They then saw that lead evaporate, but they were able to show some grit and holds on in the end for a win.
The two teams have met once this season on February 29th with Boston winning 102-96. The Celtics had a bad game statistically speaking as they were just 3 for 18 from three point land.
In that game however, Kevin Garnett turned back the clock and had a stellar game scoring a season high 25 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Paul Pierce had been solid in his last 5 games in Milwaukee averaging 23.5 points per game.
The addition of Ellis to the roster seems to be affecting oddsmakers as they have the total set at 200.5 points for this game which may have been considered high before the trade. In their last 10 meetings these two teams have only averaged 183.5 points combined. Because of that the under is hard to ignore considering in this one.
The Celtics are 3-11 ATS in their last 14 road games. The under is also 9-4 in the last 13 Boston road games.
The Bucks are a blistering 8-0 ATS in their last 8 overall. The over is 23-8 in Milwaukee’s last 30 overall and 16-5-1 in their last 22 home games.
The underdog is 8-2-1 ATS in the last 11 meetings between these two teams. Boston is a startling 8-20-1 ATS in their last 29 meetings vs. the Bucks as well. Bet Milwaukee at best sportsbooks online.
