The Spurs still are trying for the top seed in the West while the Lakers look to make the playoffs after suffering a deathblow. Check the NBA odds at Bovada sportsbook.
The Spurs (58-21) trail the Thunder by just a half game with about three games remaining. It could possibly come down to the last night. ON their schedule, the Spurs have the Lakers, Warriors and the Timberwolves left to play. They play the Lakers and Warriors away from home, where the Spurs are just 23-16 on the season. San Antonio has struggled lately, going just 5-5 in their last 10 games while the Thunder are a much better 8-2. The Spurs are coming off a win, at home, to the Sacramento Kings. San Antonio, who held the best record in the NBA for much of the season, definitely does not look as dominant as the season is starting to wind down. Sunday’s game could be a preview of the first round of the Western playoffs.
The Lakers (43-37) suffered a monumental loss in their last game. Kobe Bryant, who has been absolutely carrying the team on his back, tore his Achilles and will not play the rest of the season. He is expected to be out 6-9 months. Bryant has been playing more and more of the game lately and many think that could be one of the reasons why it happened. LA leads the Jazz by a full game with just a couple remaining.
The Spurs are 39-38-2 against the spread this season and the Lakers are 32-46-2 ATS.
I have been picking the Lakers in almost every game lately because I thought Kobe was going to lead the team to the promise land but after the injury, I do not think they can make any noise. I still think they make the playoffs and that they beat the Spurs at home, but they have basically no shot in the first round of the playoffs at www.sportsbookroom.com.
