The Detroit Tigers and San Francisco Giants will meet for game three of the World Series from Detroit’s Comerica Park. World Series odds are at Bovada sportsbook.
San Francisco as opposed to the previous two playoff series are now playing from ahead and hold a 2-0 series lead. It looks as though the Giants have built on the momentum that carried them past the Cardinals in the NLCS after they faced a 3-1 series deficit. In game three the Giants will send Ryan Vogelsong to the mound. He has appeared three times in the postseason allowing just three runs in 19 innings of work. Also of note is the fact that Vogelsong has not pitched against the Tigers this season.
The Tigers bats have been stifled by the Giants in the first two games of the series and they hope that a change of scenery back at home will be good for them. They have actually received pretty good pitching outings to from Justin Verlander and Doug Fister thus far and they look to Anibal Sanchez to continue that tonight. Sanchez has faced the Giants twice this season while he was a member of the Marlins and was average in one outing spectacular in the other.
Although Sanchez has pitched pretty well in the postseason we still do not really trust him in this spot. Vogelsong on the other hand has been pitching great all postseason and we look for him to continue that great pitching tonight.
