The San Francisco Giants and the Washington Nationals meet on Tuesday for game two of their series. Looking for odds? Check out Bovada sportsbook.
The Giants are now tied again for first place in the division after being beat up pretty good by the Nats on Tuesday. They scored just two runs on eight hits and starter Ryan Vogelsong had a rare rough outing. Tonight the Giants will send Madison Bumgarner to the mound who has been on a roll lately. He is pitching to a 3.08 ERA in 154 innings pitched this season thus far.
The Nats dominated the Giants and still have one of the best records in baseball. They pounded out 21 hits en route to 14 runs. That was plenty for Gio Gonzalez who accumulated his 14th win of the season. Jordan Zimmerman, winner of his last six decisions, will take the mound tonight. Zimmerman is leading the NL in ERA with a solid 2.35 mark. In 145 innings he has allowed just 129 hits this season.
San Francisco is 5-2 in their last seven games as a favorite, 1-5 in their last six games against the NL East, and 17-4 in Bumgarner’s last 21 home starts. Washington is 7-1 in their last eight games following a win, 7-2 in their last nine games as a road underdog, and 6-0 in Zimmerman’s last six starts. Washington has won the last four meetings of these two.
We like the Giants to get back on track tonight and pull out a win. Look for Bumgarner to be the stopper and take the Giants on the moneyline at the sports book.
