The Giants and Diamondbacks open up their second three-game series in the past week on Monday. MLB odds can be found at Oddsmaker sportsbook.
The Giants (13-11 entering Sunday) lost four games in a row entering Sunday’s game against the Padres. Two of those games came against the Padres in the first two games of that series and the other two came to the hands of the D-Backs. Both losses to Arizona came in extra innings, one in the tenth inning and the other in the eleventh. Brandon Crawford is leading the Giants in batting average, .298, and home runs, five. Pablo Sandoval leads in hits, 27, and RBI’s, 18. Matt Cain will start on Monday against the Diamondback. Cain is a tremendous pitcher but has not been good so far this season. The Giants have lost the game in all five of his starts. Cain is 0-2 and has an ERA of 6.59.
The Diamondbacks (14-10 entering Sunday) enter Sunday on a bit of a hot streak. The D-Backs have won five of their last seven games including three wins against the Rockies and two against the aforementioned Giants. Gerardo Parra is averaging .313 this season and has 30 hits so far this season, both lead the team. Ian Kennedy, another very good pitcher, will start on Monday. Kennedy is also off to a rough start and is 1-2 this season in his five starts.
The Giants are 9-15 against the spread and the Diamondbacks are 13-11 ATS.
Both pitchers are high-quality starts but both are struggling. Kennedy has played better this season so I give the nod to the Diamondbacks but first read about sports book review.
