San Francisco and the Rockies open up a four game series on Friday in Colorado. Get MLB odds at Bovada sportsbook.
The Giants (23-17) finished a tremendous series with the Braves before heading to Toronto for two games. San Francisco took three games from the Atlanta Braves in the four game series and outscored their opponent 23-4 in those three wins. After that winning streak, the Giants headed to Toronto to play the Blue Jays for two games. Toronto took it to San Francisco and beat them in both games. The Blue Jays scored 10 and 11 runs in those two games respectively. Barry Zito and Ryan Vogelsong were given the losses in those two games and Matt Cain will look to get the Giants out of this mini-slump. Cain is 2-2 on the year in his eight starts. San Francisco has only won three of those games when he has started but they have been the last three. Cain’s ERA was up over eight at one point but is now at 5.04.
Colorado (21-19) has split their last four games just following their four game losing streak. In that four game span, the Rockies scored just three runs and only gave up 12 but that is nine more than they were able to score.
San Francisco is just 15-25 against the spread while the Rockies are now 22-17 ATS.
My pick is the Giants. Cain is a top-notch pitcher and has been playing better as of late and it will continue against the Rockies at www.sportsbookroom.com.
