The Giants (24-17 entering Friday) were able to win the opening game of the four game series in Colorado and look to keep that going. Matt Cain received the win on the mound for the Giants to advance his record to 3-2. Cain made it into the seventh inning and gave up six runs. He gave up eight hits but three of those were off of home runs. The Giants gave up three home runs while the Giants were unable to hit a single one. Angel Pagan had two hits, however, and drove in two runs as well. Brandon Crawford also had two hits and batted in three runs as well. In addition, Crawford crossed the plate twice himself.
Colorado (21-20 entering Friday) was unable to win in the first game against the Giants but still have a couple games remaining. Willin Rosario was the best player for the Rockies with two hits, two runs and three runs batted in. Rosario hit a home run in the third inning with two men on base. Juan Nicasio is 3-1 on the year and will start on the mound on Saturday. The Rockies are 4-4 when Nicasio starts on the mound for Colorado.
The Giants are just 16-25 against the spread and the Rockies are now 22-19 ATS.
