The Giants look to rebound against the Dodgers after losing their season opener. Find MLB odds at Oddsmaker sportsbook.
San Francisco’s defense of their World Series championship has not started the way they wanted. Of course this is just one game out of many, but the Giants were blanked in their first regular season game. Matt Cain started the game for the Giants and pitched six scoreless innings before being replaced by George Kontos. Cain only gave up four hits through six innings before Kontos was blasted in just one inning of work. He gave up three hits and three runs in his one inning. Sanitago Casilla entered the game for Kontos and didn’t record a single out but gave up one run in his season debut. At the plate, San Fran only recorded four hits and all of them came from just two players. Angel Pagan and Pablo Sandoval both went 2 for 4 to start off their seasons for the Giants. Everyone else were unable to record a single hit. Tim Lincecum is the probable starter in the second game of the series.
Clayton Kershaw propelled the Dodgers to their first win of the season in their first game. Kershaw pitched a gem, giving up just four hits to the Giants in a complete game shutout. In addition to that performance on the mound, Kershaw hit a home run at the plate. Carl Crawford, Mark Ellis and Matt Kemp also scored runs against the Giants.
The Dodgers covered in the first game while San Fran did not.
Kershaw pitched an absolute beautiful game and followed it up at the plate to secure the win. The Dodgers weren’t able to really get anything going off of Cain. I am going to pick the Dodgers in this game but first check the sports odds.
