The Mariners and A’s will play their third game in three days on Wednesday in Oakland. The series consists of four games in four days, an odd way to start the season. Get MLB odds at Oddsmaker sportsbook.

Seattle started off on the right foot with their 2-0 win to begin the season. Felix Hernandez led the surge for the Mariners who now start the season undefeated. King Felix pitched seven and two-thirds shutout innings while giving up only two hits, in addition to eight strikeouts. The Mariners only got five hits of their own but it was enough for two runs. Franklin Gutierrez was 1 for 4 in the season opener and drove in both runs for the Mariners. Dustin Ackley and Brendan Ryan were the two people who got across the plate. Joe Saunders will pitch for the Mariners on Wednesday. Saunders was 9-13 last year as a starter.

Oakland struggled at the plate, only getting three hits off of Hernandez. John Jaso and Seth Smith were the only two to get hits in the season opener. Smith was 2 for 3 as the DH for the Athletics. Brett Anderson was able to pitch seven innings, while giving up only four hits. With those four hits, Anderson did give up two runs, however. Tommy Milone will start for the A’s on Wednesday. Milone was 13-10 last season.

The Mariners covered the spread in the season opener as underdogs.

I think the A’s can get at least one game in this series and I like their chances in this pitching matchup for Oakland so first read a sports book review.
