The Toronto Blue Jays and the Boston Red Sox continue their series in Toronto this afternoon from Skydome. All odds for all games can be found at Just Bet sportsbook.
The Blue Jays are now tied for last place after their loss to the Sox last night. Despite home runs from Yunel Escobar and David Cooper the Blue Jays offense as a whole could only must 2 runs on 7 hits. Henderson Alvarez took the loss last night and Kyle Drabek will try and stop the bleeding this afternoon. Drabek is coming off a less than stellar outing past time out vs. the Rangers. He as let up 49 hits in 55 innings of work and has 4.55 ERA on the season.
With a win tonight the Red Sox can rid themselves of the last place moniker they have carried around for a while. The Red Sox offense slugged out 15 hits and seven runs on a Jays pitching staff that looked outmatched. Felix Doubront, who has been one of Boston’s most consistent starters will get the ball this afternoon. Doubront has a 3.86 ERA in 56 innings of work this season.
Toronto is 7-3 in their last 10 home games, 1-5 in their last six games following a loss, and 2-5 in Drabek’s last seven starts. Boston is 6-1 in their last seven road games, 11-4 in their last 15 games as a favorite, and 4-1 in Doubront’s last five starts.
The oddsmakers obviously like Drabek a little more than we do in this matchup and the Red Sox bats are typically streaky. We like the Red Sox as a M/L pick in this one but check the sports odds.
