Tonight is game 1 of the first round series between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Dallas Mavericks. All of the NBA spreads and odds can be found at Oddsmaker sportsbook.
The Mavericks are looking of course to start their quest for a second straight title as they take on the higher seeded Thunder in the opening round. The losses of Tyson Chandler and JJ Barea have certainly hurt the champs this season, but they have still managed to claw their way into the 7th seed out west. The Mavs were especially bad on the road this season only compiling a record of 13-20 which was their strength a season ago.
The Thunder looked as though they were cruising to the top seed in the West until they stumbled down the stretch just going .500 in their last 14 games and the Spurs ended up the number 1 seed. The team was led all year by their offense which featured susal suspects Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. The emergence of James Harden this season is what really has put them over the top as a team though. He averaged 17 points per game off the bench this season and shot nearly 50 percent from the field. The trio is looking forward to taking the next step and taking a trip to the Finals.
Head to head, the Thunder won three of four regular-season meetings between the teams.
This is looking like it could be the time for the Thunder to take that next step as a young team. We think they go out to prove that, especially today in front of their home crowd. Give us Oklahoma City and we will give the points so before betting check the sports odds.
