The St. Louis Cardinals and the San Francisco Giants head back to San Francisco for game 6 of the NLCS. MLB playoff odds are at Bovada sportsbook.
The Cardinals missed an opportunity to close out the Giants at home and will now have to win a game on the road to advance to the World Series. They were shutout in game five by a score of 5 – 0 and will turn to Chris Carpenter to secure a second straight World Series trip tonight in San Fran. Carpenter has only faced the giants one time this season and it was in the NLCS. It was a less than stellar outing in which he gave up five runs in a St. Louis loss.
The Giants looked to be down and out, but came up big with their game 5 victory. They received a surprising stellar pitching performance from Barry Zito who hurled seven shutout innings. Returning home the Giants will look for similar performance from picture Ryan Vogelsong. He looks for his second win of the series as in his first appearance he allowed just one run in seven innings for the win.
We look for Vogelsong to have a big game here tonight and force a game seven. Since Carpenter is not the Chris carpenter we are accustomed to it makes it easier for us to take San Francisco as a moneyline favorite at the sports book.
