The St. Louis Cardinals and the San Francisco Giants meet tonight in a winner take all game seven of the NLCS. MLB odds are at Bovada sportsbook.
St. Louis had a golden opportunity to eliminate the Giants at home in game five and failed to do so which is the main reason they now find themselves in a game seven. They struggled on defense in game six as starter Chris Carpenter let up five runs with only two of them being earned. When you combine that with the fact that the bats were completely silent as well you have a recipe that led to a game seven. The Cardinals will send their best pitcher all season in Kyle Lohse to the mound tonight. In his start versus the Giants earlier in the series Lohse gave up one run on sentence en route to a solid performance.
The Giants can pull off a pretty impressive comeback with a win tonight in game seven at home. They have been able to dig themselves out of a 3-1 hole in the series due to two stellar starting pitching performances. In game six it was Ryan Vogelsong who answered the bell and allowed just one run on four hits over seven innings of work. Tonight the Giants will send their ace Matt Cain to the mound in this all-important game seven. Cain was the loser in that 3-1 decision earlier in the series and allowed all three runs on six hits.
This is a unique situation in that both teams have experience in big playoff games in recent years. Being this is the case and we do not think anyone will be eaten up by the moment and we will take Matt Cain and the Giants to advance to the World Series so first read a sports book review.
