The St. Louis Cardinals look to even their series tonight with the Washington Nationals in game two of the NLDS. MLB odds are posted at Oddsmaker sportsbook.
Washington’s success this season has been built on two things: clutching and great pitching. Both of those were ever present as they took game one for the Cardinals on Sunday. The bullpen for the Nationals stole the show in game one pitching 4 scoreless innings concluding with Drew Storen who locked down the save. The Nationals will look to take a commanding 2-0 series lead behind the right arm of Jordan Zimmermann. So far this season versus the Cardinals Zimmerman is 1-1 on the season having just defeated them less than a month ago.
The Cardinals opened up with a loss in game one as they try to defend their World Series championship. They were hot entering the playoffs but their offense was lackluster yesterday in the loss. They received a good pitching performance from Adam Wainwright, but in the end they could not handle the sensational Nationals bullpen. In game two the Nationals will start Jaime Garcia who ended the season strong with four quality starts in a row. Garcia only faced the Nationals once the season and it was a rough outing in which he let up six runs in just five innings of work.
We really like Zimmerman in this pitching matchup, but think Garcia will pitch well in addition. However we give the Washington bullpen the significant advantage so we will take Washington on the moneyline at best sportsbooks online.
