The St. Louis Cardinals and the Washington Nationals meet for game one of their division series from Busch Stadium. All odds for this game can be found at Bovada sportsbook.
The Cardinals enter this game off the heels of a win over the Braves in the one-game wild-card playoff. They were led by the solid pitching of Kyle Lohse and timely hitting which contributed to their victory. In game one of this series they will start Adam Wainwright who is coming on strong after this being his first season rebounding from a shoulder injury. Wainwright finished the season 14 – 13 with a 3.94 ERA.
Washington was one of the best teams in baseball this season and were certainly a surprise as they claimed the NL East title. They were led by a very strong starting pitching staff led by Gio Gonzalez who won 21 games and posted a 2.89 ERA. He will be on the mound tonight and in his last 10 games he has yielded less than three runs and the Nats have won eight of those games.
St. Louis is the more experienced club here although they had the worse regular season. We like Gonzalez today over Wainwright and we expect Washington to win so we will take them a slight moneyline favorite on the road at the sports book.
