The Cardinals and Diamondbacks meet tonight from Busch Stadium in St. Louis. View MLB odds at Bovada sportsbook.
The St. Louis Cardinals had a chance to extend their lead in the NL Central on Tuesday as their two closest chasers both lost but they were unable to take advantage as they lost in extra innings. For Wednesday’s game the Cardinals start Joe Kelly who has worked only out of the bullpen this season. For the year Kelly has allowed 29 hits and 14 earned runs while striking out 19 over 18.2 innings for a 0-2 record and a 6.75 ERA.
The Arizona Diamondbacks were unable to hold onto their lead during regulation but they outlasted the Cardinals for the win on Tuesday. A.J. Pollack hit a home run, Paul Goldschmidt had three hits, and Willie Bloomquist had four hits as the Diamondbacks scored seven runs on 14 hits in all. For today’s game the Diamondbacks start Wade Miley who has taken losses in his last four starts. For the season Miley has allowed 66 hits and 36 earned runs while striking out 49 over64.2 innings for a 3-5 record and a 5.01 ERA.
Tough to pick the D’Backs as a road favorite against the Cardinals, but I think the pitching matchup warrants a play on the D’Backs today at www.sportsbookroom.com.
