St. Louis enters in first place in the NL Central 2.5 games up on Cincinnati. Westbrook enters the matchup today with a 5-3 record and a 2.78 ERA and a 0.98 WHIP. Westbrook has won his last two decisions, pitching 13 innings giving up six hits and two earned runs. He has won a total of four out of his last five decisions, including two out of his last three road starts. In Westrbook’s last start against Arizona he surrendered six hits and two earned runs in six innings pitched while striking out nine. The Cubs are currently in fourth place 15 games back of the Cardinals. Jackson enters 5-10 with a 5.65 ERA and 1.57 WHIP. He has lost three of his last four starts, however has only received one run total of support in his last two starts. In Jackson’s last home appearance in Cincinnati, he surrendered seven hits and gave up five runs in 5 2/3 innings pitched while walking two. In his last two starts, he has given up a combined 11 hits and seven earned runs against current the Pirates and Reds. Chicago has won four of their last ten and are 20-24 at home this year.
