St. Louis (33-17) headed in to the series with the Royals after winning five out of their last seven games. The Cardinals took two out of three games from their last three series. St. Louis took the series from the Brewers at home, went to San Diego and took that series from the Padres as well. Their last series was in Los Angeles and they won two against the Dodgers. In the first game of the series with the Royals, the Cardinals won 6-3. Adam Wainwright received the win after going eight innings and only giving up three runs on 12 hits. Wainwright is now 7-3 on the year. Most of the offense came from Yadier Molina, who went 2 for 2 at the plate, drove in four runs, scored twice himself and also walked twice.
The Royals’ (21-27) season seems like it has taken a big turn for the worst. Kansas City was 20-17, three games above .500 and in a decent position to move throughout this season with a chance for the playoffs. Since then, the Royals have only won one game and they have lost 10 of them. Ervin Santana looks to get KC back on track. Santana is 3-4 with a 3.14 ERA.
The Cardinals are 29-21 against the spread and the Royals are 24-24 ATS.
If the Royals are going to end this streak, it will be on Tuesday. This is their chance to finally get out of this slump and I believe it will happen. Royals win and to take KC Click Here.
