St. Louis (31-17) have earned themselves one of the best records in baseball as they sit 14 games above .500 heading in to the third game of the series with the Los Angeles Dodgers. St. Louis won three games in a row before losing to the Dodgers in the second game of the series. In those three games, St. Louis was pretty dominant against LA and the Padres. The Cards outscored their opponents 22-5 in that three game stretch. In the first game of this series with LA, Lance Lynn pitched six shutout innings in the Cards’ 7-0 win. Lynn only gave up two hits before giving the ball to the relievers, who only gave up one hit in the last three innings.
The Dodgers (20-27) need to string some wins together if they want to get back in to contention for a possible playoff position. They just beat the Cardinals on Saturday but need to go further than that. Clayton Kershaw will hit the mound to help that notion and Kershaw is 5-2 on the year. His ERA is a nasty 1.35.
The Cardinals are 27-21 against the spread and the Dodgers are just 19-28.
The Dodgers will make it two wins in a row after this series with the Cards. Kershaw is absolutely incredible and he push LA to another win at the sports book.
