The St. Louis Cardinals travel to Miami for game two of their three game set. Lance Lynn will start for the Cardinals while Tom Koehler gets the nod for Miami. Seek MLB odds at Top Bet sportsbook.
The Marlins took the first game yesterday winning 5-4 behind a three hit, two RBI night from Giancarlo Stanton. After coming off the DL he is on fire, homering and driving in five in his three games since coming back. They turn to Koehler tonight who is winless this season, carrying an 0-4 record and 4.20 ERA into tonight’s matchup. In his last start against the Mets, he surrendered six hits and four earned runs while walking just one in seven innings of work. His last home start against the Rays, Koehler went eight innings giving up seven hits and three earned runs while striking out four. The Marlins are still in last place in the NL East and are 12-22 at home this season.
The Cardinals hope right-hander Lance Lynn can turn the tides tonight. In 13 starts this season, Lynn is 8-1 with a 3.00 ERA and 1.11 WHIP. He has won three out of his last four decisions, including a road shutout in Los Angeles two starts ago. In his last start in Cincinnati, he surrendered five hits and gave up four earned runs in six innings of work. St. Louis has won five out of Lynn’s last six starts. St. Louis is in first place in the NL Central, 2.5 games up on the Reds.
