In game three of the four game series, the Cardinals and the Phillies battle in Philadelphia. MLB odds can be found at Oddsmaker sportsbook.
The Cardinals (9-6) are trudging along thus far and are having some real success against the Phillies. At one point during the season, the Cardinals won four straight games and only gave up one run throughout that stretch. They outscored their opponents, the Brewers and the Reds, 25-1 in those four games. They beat the Phillies in game one of their series by the score of 4-3, Adam Wainwright got the win and were winning in the seventh inning before mother nature disrupted play. Yadier Molina is actually leading the team in batting average at .300 with 18 total hits. Lance Lynn will get the nod for the Cardinals. Lynn is 2-0 in three starts but has an ERA of over 5.00.
The Phillies (6-10) are having some trouble this season and their star studded pitching staff hasn’t been star studded whatsoever. The Phillies have now lost four games in a row after dropping one to the Cardinals and getting swept by the Reds in three games. Michael Young is leading the team in batting average of .339 and has 19 hits. Chase Utley has three home runs and 13 RBI’s . Cliff Lee, the one pitcher who has played well this season for the Phillies, will start on Saturday and is 2-0 in his three starts. The one game he received a no decision, Lee had a shutout until the eighth inning began.
The Phillies are 6-10 against the spread and the Cardinals are 10-5 ATS.
The Phillies have been very good with Lee on the mound and I think that will continue on Saturday. The Phils win at home at the sports book.
