The Oakland A’s and the Texas Rangers meet with the division crown on the line today from Oakland. All odds for all games can be found at Bovada sportsbook.
The Texas Rangers have been in control of the NL West all season, but in their recent span they have given up to lead to the point where Oakland actually has a chance if they sweep the Rangers to take the division. For most of 2012 it looked as though the Rangers would coast to the division crown. Lately however they have been playing right around .500 baseball while Oakland has surged. In what is now a very important game lefty pitcher Martin Perez makes the start tonight. He has come out of the bullpen most of the season, but in his last two starts he has allowed eight runs in just four innings of work.
The A’s are finishing the season red hot and just imagine if they played the first half of the season like they have the second. They sit just two games in back of the Rangers due to their win yesterday as they beat Seattle 5-2. Tonight on the mound they will pitch Jarrod Parker who is on a hot streak of his own. In his last five starts Parker is 3-1 and has only allowed nine runs over that span.
Both teams need this game obviously in the worst way. We give Oakland a superior advantage though in the pitching department and since they are at home we will take them as a moneyline favorite at the sportsbooks.
