The Texas Rangers and New York Yankees play the final game of their series tonight in the Bronx. Derek Holland and Phil Hughes are the starters respectively. MLB odds are updated at Bovada sportsbook.
The Yankees 2.5 games back of the Boston Red Sox for first place in the AL East. They have won five of their last ten games and come in with a 23-16 record at home this season. Hughes comes in with a 3-6 record and an astounding 5.09 ERA to go with his 1.42 WHIP. He has lost three of his last four starts including his last two against the Dodgers and in Oakland. Five days ago against Los Angles he surrendered ten hits and five earned runs while striking out three over six innings of work. He has not won at home since a May 4th start against the Athletics when he went eight strong and did not give up a run.
The Rangers are tied for first place in the AL West with the Athletics. They have won six of their last ten games and enter with a 22-18 record on the road. Derek Holland comes in with a record of 5-4 and a 3.43 ERA to go with his 1.29 WHIP. He has lost his last two decisions, but did not receive a decision in his last start in St. Louis. In his last two road starts, Holland has thrown a combined 13 innings while surrendering 13 hits and five earned runs over 13 innings.
Both of these pitchers tend to give up a lot of base runners so I will side with the over with a short porch in right field plenty of left handed power hitters in each lineup with sportsbook betting.
