The Toronto Blue Jays travel to the windy city to take on the White Sox in the finale of a three game series. Esmil Rogers will start for the Blue Jays while the White Sox will throw their ace, Chris Sale. Find MLB odds at Oddsmaker sportsbook.
The Blue Jays escaped with a 7-5 victory yesterday in 10 innings. Raji Davis scored the go ahead run on a wild pitch, securing the victory for Toronto. Tonight they will throw Rogers who has only started two games for the Blue Jays this season. He has pitched out of the bullpen for a majority of the season. In 35 innings pitched this he enters without a win or loss and a 3.60 ERA. In his last start in Chicago, Rogers surrendered three hits giving up one run while striking out eight. Toronto has won his last two starts, however he has not had a decision so far this year. With the win, Toronto starts a new streak, and improved their road record to 12-19.
The Sox dropped to last place in the AL central and turn to Chris Sale tonight. He has lost his last two decisions, giving up nine hits and five earned runs in 13 1/3 innings pitched. On the season, he is 5-4 with a 2.68 ERA and 0.92 WHIP, with 72 strikeouts in 77 1/3 innings pitched so far this season. Excluding his last start against the Athletics, Sale has given up just five hits and surrendered two earned runs. The White Sox are just four for their last ten.
I’ll side with Sale and the home Sox here today. He hasn’t received much run support but against the youngster, Rogers, I see the ship turning so first check sports odds.
