The Raptors travel to Atlanta to try and hurt the Hawks’ chances for the fifth spot in the Eastern Conference. Check the NBA odds at Bovada sportsbook.
Toronto (32-48) has been playing a lot better down the stretch and the addition of Rudy Gay will help that, but the Raptors are well out of the playoff contention, and have been for awhile. They are almost 20 games below .500 yet are only five games out of eighth place in the not so good East. Eighth place, Milwaukee, is six games below .500 and are going to make the playoffs. If the Bucks were in the West, they would be tenth right now. Anyways, Toronto is 6-4 in their last 10 games and have won their last three games, against the Bulls twice and the Brooklyn Nets, two playoff teams. The Raptors are just 12-28 on the road this season.
The Hawks (44-36) are only eight games above .500 and yet can finish in the top five of the East. Atlanta’s record would place them in a hunt with the Lakers for eighth place in the Western Conference. That just goes to show how the East compares to the West when it comes to the teams that are from fifth to tenth in the conference. Atlanta is just 5-5 in their last 10 games but have won their last two games and are 25-15 when playing at home.
The Raptors are 39-40-1 against the spread and the Hawks are 37-41-2 ATS this season.
The Hawks are playing for a purpose and the playoff seeding so I do not see them dropping a game to Toronto. I picked against the Raptors the other night and of course they came through, but I am standing pat at www.sportsbookroom.com.
