It is the Holy War scheduled from NCAA college football for Saturday night September 21st as the Utah Utes will travel to face rival the BYU Cougars. The Utes and Cougars will get things started from BYU at 10:15PM Eastern Time and ESPN2 will provide the coast to coast TV broadcast. Check out the college football odds at Bovada sportsbook.
The betting odds from the Holy War have the home team BYU Cougars favored by -7 points with an over under line coming in at 61 points. Those who wager on BYU Cougars on the money line will lay -280 odds with the return on the road underdog Utah Utes at +250 odds on the money line.
This is a series that in recent years has been dominated by the Utah Utes. The team has won three straight and the last time Utah went into BYU was in 2011 and the Utes came away with a 54-10 victory as a +4 point road underdog. In last year’s Holy Ware it was Utah winning by a field goal at home as a +3 ½ point underdog. BYU quarterback Taysom Hill is a running style quarterback with an inaccurate arm. He is completing just 33.3% of his throws and his coming off a monster game last time out at Texas where he rushed for 259 yards and three touchdowns. You would expect with those running totals that Hill would have outstanding passing numbers. Well in that game with the Longhorns Hill completed a mere 9 of 26 for 129 yards and an interception. In the Cougars 17-16 road loss at Virginia Hill completed just 13 of 40 passes for 175 yards. Look if Texas knew how to tackle teams with a running quarterback there is a good chance that we would see the BYU backup under center because BYU isn’t beating Texas and with a 33% passing accuracy there is no way that Hill would be starting in this spot. Fortunately for Utah their strength is stopping the run so they can expose Hill for what he is and that is a very bad college football quarterback who got lucky to beat a poorly coach name brand team on national television in prime time.
With our college football pick for Saturday we will play on the Utah Utes +7 points but prior to wagering please check out a sports book review.
