The Nationals and Rockies square off tonight in Washington. Jorge De La Rosa and Ross Detwiler will start respectively. MLB odds are updated at Bovada sportsbook.
The Rockies have now won two in a row and improve their record at Coors Field to 21-14. They send De La Rosa to the mound today who enters with a 7-3 record, 3.38 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP. He has been a pleasant surprise for the Rockies, winning his last five decisions. In his last start at home against the Padres, he was roughed quite a bit surrendered 11 hits and giving up four earned runs. The Rockies have won the last seven games he has appeared in, however. In his previous two starts at home, De la Rosa has given up just three earned runs in 12 ½ innings pitched. In his last two starts, the Rockies have provided him with a solid 17 runs of support. Colorado has won five of their last seven home games.
Ross Detwiler enters with a 2-5 record and 3.34 ERA to go with a 1.39 WHIP. Detwiler has lost five of his last six starts. In his last appearance in Philadelphia, he surrendered seven hits and four earned runs while striking out four in six innings of work. In his last home start against the Cubs, he gave up eight hits and two earned runs in 6 2/3 innings pitched. The Nationals are five games back of Atlanta for first place in the NL East and are 20-13 at home.
I will side with the over in this matchup has both lineups are powerful against these sub-par pitchers at www.sportsbookroom.com.
