The Wisconsin Badgers have made an impressive run up to the Elite Eight of this NCAA Tournament. They started out by crushing American by 40 points. Then they faced two hot teams playing outstanding basketball in the Oregon Ducks and Baylor Bears. After falling behind by 12 points the Badgers made a great run in the second half and showed the mental toughness to overcome the pressure of a double digit deficit in a single elimination tournament and rally for the win. They then took on Baylor and learned from the Oregon mistake. The team started quickly and made their shots and defended Oregon very well as the Ducks made just 18 of their 57 shots from the field. Arizona has been hampered by a key injury and in this round they will feel the impact. The Wildcats offensive production won’t be enough in this spot. They fell behind to an offensively challenged San Diego St and avoided defeat barely. Looking at the body of work for Wisconsin you have to be impressed with their victories in the non-conference against the likes of Florida, Saint Louis and a 10 point road victory at Virginia. Wisconsin has wins against Michigan and Michigan St. That means the Badgers have four wins against the seven other teams in the Elite 8 this year. You have to respect the strength of the Big Ten with three teams in the Regional Finals.
With our college basketball pick on Saturday we will play on the Wisconsin Badgers at +3 points against the Arizona Wildcats but prior to wagering be sure to check out a sports book review.
